Yup. Inflation stands at around 80% and Erdogan is up for reelection next year. He's ruthlessly exploiting his current pivotal geopolitical position in the hopes of scoring foreign policy "wins" which increase his popularity and/or distract from his domestic issues. With the EU being busy with their own problems and the US needing them to control the Bosporus, NATO just cannot afford to kick the Turks out or put them in their place right now. Erdogan knows that he can get away with going rogue at the moment, and he's milking it for all it's worth.
