Have you watched the movie? Because if you did you'd know she survives failure after failure thanks to those tribesmen and her brother. She uses being regarded as nonthreat to fight back. No marry sue here at work, and she is an actual cutie pie ( in contrast to short haired, lesbian, strong, independent women behaving like rude men).

yes man...

the main male hunter is portrayed as a weak snake that falsely claimed the panther kill as his own, by later confessing that he only got the kill due to "strong female character" weakening it by her amazing spear strike

his posse laugh and mock the "strong female character" - only to be swiftly taken out like fools, especially one that gets EZ PK'd mid-"strong female character"-disrespecting-sentence while sitting on a tree branch

Far fetched, she failed anyways and would've been eaten by that lion if not for him. Leave the strong independent woman out and think of them as two guys. He'd still claim the prey his but his tale would appear less believable. I've got a feeling you guys see woke where there isn't one. By those standards,

would be an extremely woke movie with diverse cast.

What became really woke was the 3rd installment of Jurassic Kindom. There was so much of the "message" that the whole movie didn't make sense. I don't see anyone discussing the aspect.

its a good example on how to show a female character as someone the "belongs amongst other fighters", without the need to constantly put others down as comically cocky, disrespectful & outclassed

without the endless cringy scenes of "strong female character" in a "fight against the bigoted patriarchy and its enforced gender roles", that Prey (2022) is riddled with

I liked that one, too, but mostly for the male lead and that samurai dude. The dogs were a subpar resident evil knockoff, didn't like them in that universe at all.

About the prey chick, well, she's also an incompetent rookie hunter with superb tracking skilld. She deserved to be put down by others.
