Sounds like you're bringing up Biden to divert from the fact that Trump is a hypocrite?

I said this in the other Trump thread. I am assuming those misunderstanding what “pleading the fifth” actually means are either not Americans or have never once done anything within the American legal system.

If you get a speeding ticket and you want it reduced, you plead the fifth and let a lawyer speak for you. If you punch somebody in the face, you plead the fifth and have a lawyer speak for you. If you murder somebody, you plead the fifth and have a lawyer speak for you.

The #1 rule since the beginning of modern American law is you don’t speak, only your lawyer speaks. If you have to speak, your lawyer tells you what to say.

When you say anything along the lines of “pleading the fifth shows signs of guilt” you are showing that you have no clue what you are talking about.

I would love to see somebody pull up a thread from the Rittenhouse trial and see how everybody reacted when he took the stand. I have no idea who said what but I can say with utmost confidence if we compared trump not speaking to Rittenhouse speaking, those who are slamming trump today will be proven to have no consistency or principles when it comes to tribal politics.

I did, and I understand Donald Trump publicly says dumb shit probably every fifteen minutes of every day since the 1980s.

I am pointing out that this is a terrible argument. There is a reason it is illegal to even bring up the fact that any party invoked the fifth amendment during a trial. It is silly (by silly I mean stupid) when people say hur de sur shit like this, because not speaking directly to people who are trying to put you in jail is, again, literally the first rule of modern American law. Every lawyers first and most important job is making sure their client keeps their mouth shut.

Posting a “Donald Trump pleads the fifth” thing is basically saying, “Donald Trump relieved himself once pressure from his bladder started providing him with mild discomfort.”

Be real my guy, there is no “gotcha” by somebody consulting with their legal team.

The greater point of the post (which I should have put in originally, instead of in an edit, because I incorrectly assumed that the usual suspects like Djunior or WDJ could infer it) is not that he exercised his 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination, but how there always seems to be a yin to his yang when it comes to stuff like this.
