Why is it that people online who have left political views fabricate malicious slander?

They repeat lies about another user until other inexperienced users actually start believing it.
It's relentless, they just keep repeating the lies. Then new users start to believe it and associate the targeted user with the slander.

And is there any way to defuse their malicious lies?

Very good question.

I don't have any real solution, but what I recommend is to find other good, non-left people, and band together with them. Try and expose the left's lies, with help from fellow right-leaning posters. You can also PM the new users and try and show them the truth.

remember the old fascist saying. "repeat a lie often enough and loud enough and people will start believing it."

Unfortunately, false flags work.
