So theres a story here about an outsourced cashier service that has a cashier serving you from another country making about $4/hour.

People are outraged and want him fired but I'm not sure why our no immigration borders liberal friends are eager to make some guy in a third world country lose his job so that it can be filled at $15/hour by a local who consistently gets your order wrong and has an attitude problem when you mention they've made a mistake.

Thoughts on outsourcing cashiers to other countries so that a business doesn't have to pay so much for local cashiers?

but less expensive than slavery. You don't have to feed, clothe or house these nicaraguans

the fact that people walk 5 miles from a hut just to enter the only place in the whole region that has a stable internet connection, sit there all day doing insanely boring work like taking mcdonalds orders or entering captcha codes is wild. then they head back just in time for rat stew their grandma brewed all day over a cow dung fire. first world meets third world shit always makes me sad but interested.

Don't need a new conversation to find out why outsourcing is bad or unpopular. Just google it. This is not a new topic or debate.

Imo canada should just force a 10/hr min wage for foreign workers if they really want to stop this.

fuck that - a service provided in BC (or any province) should be subject to BC's (or said province's) minimum wage

but the SCC's decision in R. v Cameco (2021) made me lose all hope
