We got shooting every day now, this used to be a rare thing, now it's every every day. Yeah sad for the immigrants that do right by them but this is what is... If it was about helping people these politicians would promote local food production everywhere, have closed borders for welfare tourists, invest in permaculture desert greening projects and food forest refugee camps, drill wells and dig swales, educate people of self sufficiency, etc etc and make countries self sufficient. That's not what they want. They don't really give a ****.

There's no historical precedent that can necessarily be applied to modern multiculturalism. History has shown both examples of multicultural empires that waxed in power, as well as those that fell, as well as the rapid success of ethnically homogenous societies. None of them were subject to the same abruptness of our technological and social advances nor our impending ability to directly manipulate human genetics. I think the argument goes that we can't really apply any lessons of the past onto the present, and some of the greatest mistakes of our past few centuries have been the narrowmindedness of forward thinkers, who had the hubris to think they could lay the designs for humanity for centuries to come.
