https://www.nytimes.com/2022/06/07/us/politics/chesa-boudin-recall-san-francisco.htmlChesa Boudin is now the
former district attorney of San Francisco, after a recall election has ousted him with early returns showing at least 60-40 margins. This follows the progressive school board ousters last year and again shows the most liberal area in the country revolting against the democratic party, who lined up to support Boudin. He had been a champion of the current brand of criminal justice reform, which has stopped enforcing any crime short of murder, except by the police who he throws the book at- even withholding exculpatory evidence at trial. But who can hold him accountable? Who's going to charge the DA? With the west coast being the leader for much of the country's lesser progressives, Boudin and his soul mate DA from LA Gascon have been the faces of the anti-prosecution movement. He is, of course, the son of weather underground terrorists who murdered police officers, and related to a russian-ukrainian marxist writer, fidel castro's attorney and the USSR's fellow-traveler-but-not-spy IF Stone. And that's why there's human feces and used needles everywhere on the ground in SF.
Will this be the high water point of the decriminalization movement? Lord knows Minneapolis is in the worst throes of it, with career criminals walking through a revolving door without seeing a day in prison after their 14th felony suspended sentence deal with prosecutors. These sorts of policies were hammered out by the marxists on the left coast before being imported to the midwest. When SF and LA start the counterrevolution, hopefully it spreads and turns the tide.
