Wasn't sure if there was a dedicated topic on this. Also, it's Memorial Day. If you've served, are serving, thank you for your sacrifice. No gesture, no nation can repay it in full. I know I'm a smart ass on here but I mean that one.

Putin's action was a surprise to a lot of folks. But I don't think that necessarily sets a precedent for China to invade Taiwan, during even as opportune a time as now while NATO already effectively engaged in a proxy war. My hot take is that even the layman can see some drastic differences between Russia / Ukraine and China / Taiwan, therefore, an invasion is not happening any time soon. The costs would be staggering to China.

-Taiwan has a formidable stack of formal defense agreements in place
-Taiwan has a "mayyyyyybe?" commitment from America
-Taiwan is an island separated from the mainland by relatively shallow waters and few deepwater sea ports favoring shipping from China
-Russia's industrial and population core is situated mostly right next to Ukraine, while China's core regions (Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai areas) are not
-China lacks Naval experience, organization, and tradition, even if they have the industrial capacity to produce a gigantic fleet, meaning they would decisively lose a naval engagement with the US, hell maybe even with just Japan/Taiwan
-Taiwan is heavily armed, fortified and prepared

The only factors I see pushing a military conflict in Taiwan are:

-Biden is in now, and politically weak and vulnerable, 2022 and 2024 are likely to see changes in the US government that would hold a firmer line
-NATO is distracted by Ukraine now
-Internally, there is a Casus Belli, so I don't think the CCP would suffer political blowback unless the military operation sent tens of thousands of soldiers to their drowning death in the Taiwan Strait, which I do believe would inevitably happen in an open conflict.

Putin invading was a brash move even for him, and it was a gigantic failure. It calls into question the strength of russia in full, up to the maintenance of his nuclear arsenal.

China is not russia. If they were to try and take taiwan, not the least of these issues is their actual ability to take over the island. Without outside interference of course. Also, im fairly sure thier nuclear weapons still work, which again and I cannot stress this enough, cant say the same about russia.

okay im gonna go tinfoil as fuck on this one, so be prepared

russia/ukraine isnt really a war, its a means of starving people and thats all it is. probably putin is on with the deal and a willing actor in this whole charade, as the western people generally wouldnt approve of the sanctions because they know they would starve as well, but if you make putin the ultimate bad guy, people will go with it, which is what we are seeing now. this war is meant to last at least until the winter so everyone gets fucked

china/taiwan wouldnt really be a plot by the big actors. globalists dont really like xi, although they are fine with the ccp. thats why even in china you can see pro jiang opinions and anti xi propaganda. xi wants to stay in power and this is the year to do it, and while he still has connections to the wef, he isnt really controlled by them and i do think putin is. if xi gets taiwans technology, he is actually going to present a real threat to the current state of global political power, so if china did attack, my guess is that the west would interfere way more than in ukraine, where they are kinda just trying to prolong the conflict

on chinese military, i dont think they are prepared to attack taiwan at all, due to multiple reasons like one child policy, low morale, but mostly the zero experience of chinese military. i mean its one thing to stomp on the unarmed mainland population, but once they tried to attack an experienced, armed to the teeth military like vietnam, they got demolished harder than piper perri in that blacked video  i mean taiwan isnt vietnam, but they are still prepared. and experience means a LOT in this, so apart from cyber warfare china cant really do much i think, and vs taiwan, china cant do shit even there

the only way i see of china attacking taiwan would be if xi's power was crippled and that was his only option to hold it. as long as he is stable in his place, nothing will happen with taiwan

maybe it hasnt changed at all  ! if the idea is to make everyone poor, the sanctions need to be put in place. so if media in the west didnt shit all over putin presenting him as the next hitler, the people would be against sanctions because they would know they would suffer the most  BUT if you paint putin as the bad guy, people would be like "well yeeah i will suffer, but at least we will show that evil putin  !". at the same time, russia has to have full pro putin propaganda or they would collapse his regime.. the only eu country with free media when it comes to russia/ukraine is surprisingly my serbia, which isnt really known for free media  well and maybe hungary

soo...i think putin is in on the deal  he will play the bad guy so the sanction plan goes along

keep us divided and bickering?

my thoughts but not necessarily what i believe. putin is part of the WEF/NWO but he is getting a raw deal out of it and what he is doing now is trying to get a better deal

something else to consider when trying to figure out the truth of ukrain/russia
adam shift " use ukraine to fight russia"
