I think the west of the US is tremendously fucked. Water issue wont get any better. Last few years it's been 'pls limit your lawn watering to once a week'. In the future I think it'll go beyond that small sacrifice.
I'm surprised we're not seeing more people moving out of states live California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, etc. I lived in California about 10 years ago and there was a time I wanted to move back, but honestly don't think I would just because of water scarcity.
If people think water is tight now just imagine when the aquafer dries up. It's going to be really bad.

Cliffnotes:
Agriculture uses 80% of California's water.
Agriculture is 2% of the California GDP.
Top billionaires export their agriculture out of the state/country (Saudi Arabia just got Water Rights to export Alfalfa, a highly water-intensive crop, it's illegal in their country because it uses so much).
Your water will be limited as a resident based on even/odd address system.
Citizens use 6% of the water supply.
There ya go, now you know how to vote later. Clean em out!
Welcome to capitalism. If it's more profitable to send products out instead of keep them here that will be done, even at the expense of everybody else.
