Garbage politicians who hate your freedom to negotiate for insulin are trying to pass a bill that blatnatly interferes with the free market.

If we got government out of regulating insuling people could choose to inject whatever they wanted to try to fix their diabetes, but the big government wants to force doctors to prescribe insuling and then makes chemists and biologists LITERAL SLAVESby FORCING them to sell under THE VALUE DETERMINED BY THE FREE MARKET.

Personally I am very angry at this and think we should all get out in the streets and protest for our FREEDOM to CHOOSEhow much to pay for our LIFE SAVING MEDICAL TREATMENTS!

Funny enough, Trump's insulin cap from two years ago used the exact same value, capping at $35 per month for seniors co-paying to medicare. Biden's first action on taking the white house was to overturn it and uncap insulin

I am glad to see in this thread.

We have had numerous discussions and he is a freedom loving true American who sees the value of FREEDOM when you get to choose between insulin and paying rent. Because FREEDOM is the most important thing! FREEDOM TO CHOOSE!

Sounds like Democrats did the right thing but are caving to special interests who prefer government control over freedom.

It's unfortunate. Neither party seems to love Freedom!

The freest thing possible is free commodities. If I want to go to a grocery store near me and tell them I'll pay my good hard earned money for a dozen eggs, they'll tell me no sir, they won't take my money. Because there's no eggs anywhere to buy!

EXACTLY! They should be allowed to charge whatever they want. People will naturally gravitate towards the solution that's right for them. If they can't afford fancy insulin they can inject whatever they think will work. Because that's FREEDOM! If I want to extract insulin in my garage and sell it for $5 a pop, that's my right as a free American!

Haha, not sure I embody the 'true American' being a naturalized foreign-born US citizen but okay. Insulin pricing is a pretty complex issue, not that long ago there were tons of articles being written about the fact that there's a global shortage. I know you like to believe the onus of this crucial medicine being expensive is purely on the evil corporations that need to squeeze every dollar out of reliant patients but it's not that simple.

You realize that part of the issue is the amount of regulatory burden placed on drug makers right? There's a monopoly by 3 companies because the regulation make it uneconomical for other companies to try and produce it. They way insulin is produced is also constricting as it can't simply be pumped out like many other drugs.

There are projections saying that 40 million people will be left without insulin by 2030. Rich countries subsidizing it domestically for their own people just means that somewhere else a poor pleb will have to do without.
