Is it possible to become a billionaire without doing any of the following:
exploit workers, abuse workers, partake in slave labor, overcharge customers, skirt taxes, utilize unsafe practices, buy out or force out others in related areas

thought about this when reading about the proposal to have minimum 20% tax on billionaires, so that tax loopholes couldn't be exploited such that men like Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk effectively pay 0 dollars

income is different than net worth

often times there are restrictions about when and why they can sell certain stocks which represent 98% of their net worth / income

Divorcing a billionaire for being a monster seems to be the only way.

I don't think anybody has become a billionaire just with the stock market without also starting a business to manage other people's money and doing the above.

Even if we assume they're just great at trading, I don't think owning a company that does the above absolves you of responsibility. Does it matter if you didn't personally enslave somebody if you just made a shit load of money owning a company that does? I don't think so, and I think the willingness to separate owners from the conduct of the company they own is a big source of our problems with corporate America.

Net Good.

Does the billionaire hoard wealth and say use that money to visit the edge of space?

Or do they find ways to use their wealth to produce a good for humanity?

I argue that you could be born to a billionaire and thus done nothing ethically challenging to be that fortunate. But should you inherit that wealth, you choose your legacy; continue the greed or be charitable (while maintaining a luxourious lifestyle)

Someone became a billionaire utilizing mostly instagram im pretty sure the stock market is an easier means than that. One billion dollars is not that much nowadays when we have multiple companies reaching a trillion in networth.
