im fairly hesitant when it comes to hormone blockers for pre teens and very critical of the gender dysmorphia branch of psychology overall, but sending parents to prison for life is a stupid reaction.

Don't try to destroy your kids and won't have to worry about.

incarceration cost per prisoner is about 35k$/year. so for a set of parents thats 70k$. at an average parent age of 35 and a life expectancy of 80 years that means 45 years of incarceration. and a total taxpayer cost per indicted case of $3,150,000.

meanwhile my wife is a teacher that has kids come in with poop in their hair, mysterious cuts and bruises, shellshocked because they're screamed at by parents, and CPS does nothing but a home visit after 5 calls then nothing more.

if we're pumping millions into protecting kids this is about as stupid of a way as possible, especially since parents can just leave Idaho and still get the treatments done.

just writing and passing the legislation itself will cost millions, all to signal to idiots who cant do math that protecting kids is important. it is, this just isnt it, this is stupid.

Serous question since I’m uninformed/ignorant to puberty blockers.

Is there anything wrong with puberty blockers? I thought they were just a way to “delay” puberty, in the event a person decides they want to transition (then said person would go ahead with whatever treatment needed).

If said person changes their mind, they can just stop taking them and essentially go through puberty.

Are there any known long term side effects? If it’s just buying someone time to help them make a decision (they may be a minor) is that a bad thing?

Conversely, if someone decides they want to change genders at age 20 and have already gone through puberty doesn’t that make their transition harder?

Also is it a big enough issue where Idaho-ians are genuinely concerned for the safety of their children? Maybe it is I guess…how many trans kids are there in Idaho

The amount the US argues over trans rights for something that is representative of like .00001% of the population…. If we actually spent time on real issues maybe we’d get something done
