How uncomfortable must it be up there right now? There are 4 Americans, 1 German, and 2 Russians living in extremely tight quarters. With 3 more Russians scheduled to arrive in March alongside the departure of 2 Russians and an American about two weeks later.

They are life long dedicated scientists... Not political extremists that populate PaRD. They don't really care.

They definitely care. Scientists are still human. Though I agree they wouldn't be as engaged in debate as people on an Internet forum by any stretch, they'll still each have their own opinions. And there may be political pressures being put on them by their respective governments as well. The ISS has been used politically before.

You asked how uncomfortable it must be... I'm telling you that this isn't an impediment for professionals of their caliber. Obviously they are not immune to personal feelings but the ISS isn't a place were some 400 pound basement dwelling sleezeball getting his news from twitter resides.

Uncomfortability isn't necessarily an impediment to professionalism. They still have to work together with their lives in the balance.

There needs to be at least one woman in space.






Astronauts need sandwiches made for them too.
