Is it a smart strategy that the government has been using our war time oil reserves to lower prices at gas pumps? Or should they allow for pipe lines like the government has allowed Russia to do?

Releasing stockpiles from the strategic reserve is a feel-good, do-nothing measure.

It's nothing more than virtue signaling at this point.

A tiny amount. But they stopped our production . So we are screwed long term. What are they going to do deplete our emergency reserves so we can rely on foreign countries? Or we all stop driving?

Lets be clear. Keystone was a blatantly illegal pipeline that should never have been on the table. It was rerouted to a native communities water supply because the almost entirely white town it initially went by complained about the potential for spills.

Also, there are more permits than drilling sites on federal lands. The federal permit issue isn't meaningfully lowering output as far as I can tell.

They stopped Keystone which wasn't supplying CAN oil to the US anyway..
So.. It will get back on track just will take some time IMO

Gas prices in my area have gone up. Almost $4/gallon now.
