Whatever the platform, whenever I see or hear Americans, there seems to be no middle ground.
There is the right that just want to trigger "libtards" and the left that think that the right are fascists.

Last 3 party chats I have been in with Americans, you somehow bring politics into it and just attack each other.

It's like a bunch if kids arguing about why hero x is better than hero y.

Your country just seems full of hate for each other. Is there any hope for you, or will the US be one of the first Western nations yo have a societal collapse?

I did say every platform. The last 3 party chats were just an example.
You see them on Facebook, you see it on reddit and discord too.

You see American cars covered in these anti-whoever slogans. What was a recent one, Joe and the Hoe must Go?

You see American politicians making animated videos of them killing opposition politicians.

You see them shooting effigies of the opposition with sniper rifles as part of their political campaigns.

So, yeah, maybe the sample is too small

I saw a video of a lady republican resting a rifle on the back of a truck and taking aim at a picture of a democrat stuck to a mannequin. I will see if I can find it. But it is not the only example I see of dangerous rhetoric in the American political system:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cnn.com/cnn/2020/09/04/politics/marjorie-taylor-greene-gun-post-squad/index.html

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.mercurynews.com/2021/11/09/gop-congressman-posts-photoshopped-video-of-him-killing-aoc/amp/

But I hope my interest does not come across as anti American. In the past, the divide in thar country was not like it is today and there was healthy debate, I hope that it really still is the case and its just that the polarised people are just the vocal ones and bot representative of the whole nation.

Some people may disagree with my next point: a strong and stable America is important to preserving a semblance of global peace in the coming years

while it's obviously a bit simplistic to suggest there are exclusively extremes, it's very much true that there is a deep political (cultural) divide between the right and the left that is particularly egregious in the US.
the more interesting question is how and when it developed, why it's constantly driven and exacerbated by politicians and (corporate) media, and who benefits from it in which way.

Most Americans are indifferent moderates that sway either way. Only 15-20% are fanatics for one party, and Democrats are more likely to be psycho than Republicans (proven continually by Big-5 personality studies).

You spend too much time on the internet, I think.

I dont think I do pend too much time on the Internet, but that is irrelevant to this anyway.

So you think upto 1 in 5 Americans are fanatics? Hot damn, that is pretty bad in itself!

Fanatics bring nothing good

Thanks for this. That is an interesting way of looking at it. I live I a county with a multiparty democracy. So, so far we do not have this kind of polarisation.

The cartoon explains it very well and simply for my peasant brain as well. Thanks

It’s worse than you think. Americans are being bullied by the feminists and lgbt. Masculinity is regarded as toxic. People are too sensitive. The country has zero backbone and is on the verge of collapse. Whatever crazy you seen or experienced from usa is only the tip of the iceberg. Other than that, the country is still good if you ignore the lunatics.
