President Joe Biden has signed a federal emergency disaster declaration for Kentucky in response to the deadly tornado outbreak, Gov. Andy Beshear announced during a news conference on Saturday.

The president declared that an emergency exists in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and ordered federal assistance to recovery efforts following severe storms, straight-line winds, flooding and tornadoes since Friday.
