As of 2024 no one in nz under the age of 14 will ever be allowed to buy nicotine products in their life time.

How is that?

Whole generation of kids going to get hooked and get it from older people or turn to a black market of tobacco grown and speedboated from Australia. Bad things happen when large swaths of otherwise fine people feel like criminals.

Why would they get hooked? Also, Australia to New Zealand is like 1000 miles...

And a whole lot more kids will never try it thus avoiding starting a habit only young and stupid people think is a good idea.

Nicotine is incredibly addictive.

If it is that distance, then speedboats are out. It’ll still get there.
