a 3.5 trillion dollar spending bill with democrat wish list items jammed in is not required or common sense.
The democrats easily could have proposed less wasteful spending if preventing a 'shutdown' is really so important to them.

There were very obviously valid and serious concerns with lockdowns and devastating economic shutdowns on a wide scale.
There are also great reasons to oppose massive spending bills. Any economic damage that comes from a fake shutdown pales in comparison and does not mean terrible democrat spending bills should be passed to avoid it.
