This is not a yes or no question.

Sovereignty exists. There are many theocracies, tribal nations, and dirt dwelling nations. Can't judge based on western values when you don't have western means.

If we're talking America, both women's rights and religious rights need to be observed, insomuch as one is not violating the other. It's not about "suppressing" either one. It's merely about, "Your religion cannot violate the law of the land."

In Islamic nations, religious law (Sharia) IS the law of the land, therefore, to live there is to live under that law.

The question is, are you honoring the women of that land by killing their sons, brothers, and husbands?

For them it is right. For this country (united states) before 1960, it was right. Because to an extent, women were considered to be property. All over the world this type of mentality towards women existed and still exists. Because women are naturally weaker than men. And what do bullies do towards the weak? They take advantage. Nowadays, the script is flipped and women take advantage of men. It’s gone so out of control, it makes you think that maybe islam is right and the previous generations as well. They kept their women in line. I don’t think it’s right for a man to beat his gf to inch of her life simply for going out with her friends. But either side sometimes go too far on trying to control their partner. Also United States tolerates too damn much towards all these people that try to take advantage such as the feminists and lgbt community. When did this country lose its balls?

What kind of nonsensical response is this? "Law of the Land" is defined as "The law of the land is the whole body of valid laws, statutory or otherwise, existing and in force in a country or jurisdiction at a particular date."

Therefore, when those in control of a region utilize Sharia, for instance, Sharia is the "law of the land". "Lands don't have laws" is probably the most ignorant and stupid statement you can possibly make. Go drive 150 mph down a city street and try explaining to the law enforcement officer that "lands don't have laws" as they're arresting you and impounding your vehicle. Good god what a next level of duh.
