If we had actually built schools, infrastructure, and medical facilities the Taliban wouldn't be welcome. They'd be like "get the fuck out of here. The Americans are actually helping", and it probably would have been 1/10th the cost we spent bombing innocent weddings.

It costs more to bring that stuff out than leave it, we have bases full of crap in aus from ww2.

They should have sold the stuff to Pakistan or another neighboring governed state. At least then when the Taliban rolls up, we can say we've made a buck.
