Watching the news... I didn't realize private citizens could BUY our US military for operations.

"Governor Noem tweeted Monday that she's sending up to 50 South Dakota National Guard troops to Texas because, quote, "the Biden administration has failed to keep America safe." On Tuesday, she added that the deployment will be funded by a donation from the Willis and Reba Johnson Foundation"

I knew this was a character assassination attempt as soon as I saw the same exact headline COPIED and PASTED in 20 different liberal shill newspapers.

It doesn't seem unusual or bad. I'm glad Conservative billionaires are finally joining the political debate.

Not sure how you got 'character assassination' from this, was obviously a policy ethics post. It is highly unusual for a private citizen from any political camp to buy military for an operation, especially when said citizen is not from the states involved. The 'usual' method is for them to donate to the candidate running for office, not directly for a military operation. I have no dogs in this race, the troops at the border are needed, but not from billionaire donations.

I thought paying taxes was moral according to the social contract?

He sponsored the expenses for the government to do it.
