Has there ever been a time in history when the people burning books were the good guys?

Has there ever been a time when a private company making a decision to cease production of a handful of titles creates a ridiculous, nonproportional backlash among a significant segment of the media?

Another question: I don't identify as a conservative anymore, but for those who still are, and don't get hyped up by nonsense like this, what party represents them? Is there a party that caters to serious right-wingers anymore? Obviously there is not.

This is a far more intelligent and nuanced response than I expected from a thread like this.

The financial crisis really fucked things up for the GOP. They really aren't unified in terms of SOLUTIONS but they are unified in terms of opposition. They need the culture war to keep votes so this is a great strategy by GOP operatives.

Amazons market share is above 60%

Icemage’s arguments are banal and blatantly deceptive

I don't think it's inevitable that the right-wing became crazy. There was a demand for sure, but the suppliers bended completely. People like McCain stood up to it.
