tax in question: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/31/opinion/republicans-biden-taxes.html

so trump raised taxes on those making <75k/year effective at some points during the Biden Admin.

why can't biden or the democratic controlled congress revert this? also why is neither side talking about this? blues hate trump and reds should hate raised taxes.

really wish sanders won, its all just one big establishment built to fuck over the common person or is there something im misunderstanding?

They'd have to pass legislation to change that. This isn't something that can be done via EO.

i mentioned the democratic controlled congress though. isnt EO only for biden? im not exactly fluent in government but i thought congress could totally undo this. and biden could just use his voice to highlite the issue.

you can't read a simple article that lays out how the trump plan now increases taxes?
Or remember this EXACT thing was talked about when it passed.

op clearly wants even higher taxes with wanting a Sanders presidency.

middle-class tax cuts are almost always set to expire after a certain time and they almost always get extended or re-worked in minor fashion to keep them low. this is nothing new:

https://www.epi.org/blog/bush-tax-cuts-stay/

Code
the Bush-era income tax rate cuts have been made permanent for all taxpayers earning less than $400,000 ($450,000 for joint filers), making them a permanent part of the legislative landscape moving forward.

The Bush tax cuts, passed in 2001 and 2003, were designed to sunset after 2010 so they could pass Congress through the reconciliation process. They were extended by President Obama through 2012 so as to not raise taxes during the recession/weak recovery

https://money.cnn.com/2017/12/20/pf/taxes/tax-cuts-temporary/index.html

Code
But don't worry, they say. A future Congress won't let middle class tax cuts expire. Recent precedents -- like the oft-extended Bush tax cuts -- suggest they may be right.

@duhcrossbones and thor: you are out of your depth here. anything related to economics or money you both fall apart with emotional arguments when it’s about math and logic

Just FYI this is an opinion piece by a hyper-partisan leftist propagandist. His claims and 'facts' should be independently verified.

Yeah this is an important point. The Trump Tax plan enacted tax cuts for broad swaths of Americans, but much of it is set expire at some point. Extending the middle class tax cuts is common and was an expected consideration.
Biden explicitly said he wants to repeal the Trump tax cuts.

The democrats favor heavy tax increases. This anti-tax orange man bad facade is dishonest political posturing.
There is nothing stopping them from extending tax cuts or enacting new ones, but that is not the policy they want to pursue.

Did you mean greater than 75k? I'd think raising taxes on people making less than 75k wouldnt be popular
