This was a prevalent sentiment back in 2016 when in midst of the cultural backslash trump was elected president. I wonder what the folk who used to share that sentiment make of it in current year. Has the worst been averted? Or has Trump’s divisive attitude just made things worse, and something worse is yet to come? I am certain the peaceful protests just served to fuel the fringe right. However, it seems to me other cultural issues are not discussed as much as they used to. Is this a positive sign? Or I am just not seeing duffman posts as frequently anymore?

assuming biden wins out we will be back to normal business, which is warmongering escalations and policies that do not benefit Americans

Yes and with a complicit mainstream media. The crickets and clapping broadcasted for the next 4 years might hurt their ratings.

every lefty and rino here will be back to their usual programming too. “fight for America” in the Registan Desert so the politicians and lobbyists can get their royalties

their ratings will suffer. with no Trump to rally the base and no Trump for lefties to boogeyman why would anyone tune in?

the only interesting angle is if biden wins out what does Trump do. Most Presidents go home and stay quiet except Obama. some have mentioned building a media outfit that is ripe for the taking

What does this mean for american conservatives/republicans? They'll follow suit and wager their options in a boring candidate for next election cycle? Of course, many things could happen, but if your forecast is correct does it mean 'something worse' than trump was adverted?

I think the direction of the party is very up in the air.
A more authoritarian strong man is entirely possible now. There will be a battle for the party. The neocons might try to move back in now that they helped Biden win.
And who knows what will go on behind the scenes.

I personally hope Rand has gained enough goodwill with the Trump crowd and will get the nomination. And hopefully the democrats haven't succeeded in killing him by then.

After gathering a lot of opinions and considering my own perspective, I'm starting to get some clarity on how the country is responding to each side's messaging:

Trump's messaging:
Quote
"The 1990s had a very robust job market. I am going to return to that by bringing back production careers. I'll just copy the old formula. People are going to be able go to work in mills and factories and make good money for their whole lives. Dear men: Chicks dig dudes with money, so those jobs will allow you to sex with women. Dear women: It will be easier to find dudes with money again.

Half the country: "Oh. I remember the 90s and I know what that looks like. So your message is easy for me to understand. And the fact that the dude saying is a disgusting human being with a hot model with himself drives the point home. As long as I can get a good job, I will be able to bang chicks."

Dem's messaging:
Quote
"In my economy, you won't need to earn a lot of money since the government will provide things for you. You'll earn less, but the government will be here to pay for your health care and handle any bumps in the road. My goal is to progress things further away from what they were in the 90s."

Half the country: " Men: Hmm, not sure how that results in me being able to compete to bang more hot chicks. Women: Hmm, not sure how that results in me being able to compete to find a man with more money"

It's a credit to the dems that they have managed to take other issues and push them to forefront of the election. It was a successful strategy to drown out Trump's messaging.

bold: yes

the swamp (which consists of biden) will always pursue policies that do not benefit most of America. we got no-win nonstop wars and free affordable mandatory universal healthcare from the last 16 years of swamp government in the executive branch.

biden is just a reset to America post Eisenhower and JFK and pre-Trump. I will manage fine, so will my loved ones. as for a lot of of Americans, well it remains to be seen. they are flush with ‘relief’ right now but they didnt get the repudiation they wanted. It will be a close Electoral college breakout and the GOP could very well neutralize the House and retain the Senate

thing is i think America may shift back to not caring about politics as much. President Trump is many things but damn did he bring out the vote in 2016 and 2020. he proved most Americans are reactionary and thus fairly ignorant unless they feel it affects their feelings personally
