There seems to be quite a bit of controversy around jkr writing a book about a cross dressing killer. The alphabet people have decided she is not allowed to write about them and demand her cancelled.

Terf needs to be linguistically reappropriated and championed proudly.
I didn't think I'd see the day when JK Rowling actually showed spine and good sense to speak truth against the raving mobs, considering she spent the last decade writing about how wizards shit in public and retconning characters as gay

Rowling would've been condemned no matter the plot of her newest book, and this happens to be merely poor, coincidental optics on the background of on-going debate via Twitter.

Edit: Although, given that so many anti-trans people run with a narrative that men are going to use trans-affirming laws to pretend to be women so as to then harass/abuse women, the idea of writing a book about a man who dresses as a women to kill people (possibly women? Haven't read the book), is a little yikes given her recent optics.
