McConnel is playing power politics with nominations, so he gets power politics back.

When I was growing up if I punched someone and got punched back my dad would tell me turnabout is fair play. Apparently the boomers (and right-wingers on this forum) are pussies who can't handle getting punched back.

Seems the opposite, imo.

After having the ACA shoved down our throats, along with any number of other... Interesting power plays by the Obama Administration, the other side got the power, and has been using it relatively light-handedly by comparison.

It's like the right was hit in the head by a baseball bat, and in response the right bitch slapped the left. If you wish to use moronic metaphors, at least use correct ones.

The left gets power, they use it. Consistently. The right gets power, they mostly sit on it and spin. That you can point at a whole 3 times in 12 years that the right has chosen to exercise the power the majority grants them? Cry us a fucking river.

Note: I'd love term limits. The worst activist Senators of the left would be gone. Finally.

Except the Obamacare bill was written by Republicans in the 80's and Democrats even removed the public option to try to get them on board. Republicans made it clear they weren't even coming to the table and Democrats made a shit load of concessions to try to get them on board. Oh, and why do you care about "the will of the people" when they elect 53 senators for a supreme court nomination, but not when they elect Democrats overwhelmingly into both chambers of congress and the presidency just a few months before? You aren't consistent, because you care about emotions over facts.

This is just garbage. At least try to stick to the facts.

Senators are limited to 2 per state specifically to prevent activism by the most populace states from harming everyone else. House members are elected so they have populace-based representation.

The senate is how it is specifically so there's a barrier from the House enacting laws that completely destroy some states for the benefit of others. Likewise, the EC exists, as opposed to a popular vote for president so that again, a few states do not destroy the rest due to population counts.

Part of the reason so many Bills never get voted on by the Senate is specifically because their earmarked so full of garbage by activist representatives from New York and California that they're actively harmful to every other state.

For constantly pretending to be so knowledgeable, all you've shown tonight is that you simply don't care about the how's or why's or inherent balance of the US Government. All you want is your own way. Which is probably why you support rioters. If you can't get your own way, why not just burn it down?

This is a waste of time because it would require a constitutional amendment. Don't want the courts to be political? Vote yes if the ABA gives them a unanimous "well-qualified." If they don't have that, grill them a bit and if they provide satisfactory answers, confirm them.

I support term limits for SCOTUS. 15 years is more than enough for anyone in power.

Although i see it in the near future as an issue. You need POTUS and Senate to have the same party so there could be situations in which SCOTUS vacancies are left open for years on end. 20-25 years may actually be needed for stability reasons.

Once again the problem is deeper: politicized justice.

Only because they're losing.

3 Justices
3 Terms
3 Scoops
