Thought I would make this given his announcement for an executive order outlining his plan and the high likelihood the Supreme Court overturns the ACA/Obamacare.

Anyone have ideas on how to pay for preexisting conditions in a different way?

Virtually any centrally planned system would be more efficient than what we have now.

Throw at dart at Europe, copy their healthcare system, you've saved money.

The whole issue around healthcare in our country isn't that we have bad healthcare, it's that our system is totally incapable of checking corporate influences that keep healthcare far more expensive and inefficient than it needs to be.

More often than not I get 'We shouldn't copy the UK, that isn't the best system' or 'we shouldn't copy Canada, that's not the best system' while ignoring that either is far far better than what we have now, so quibbling over what's best is pointless.

Without the individual mandate it's all but required. Everybody hates the individual mandate but you don't really get one without the other.

the issue isn't as much as being forced to pay for healthcare.
the issue was being forced to pay for healthcare, while not being eligible for that healthcare they just forced you to pay for. if they are going to force you to pay for it, you should be covered under it.

at least, that was my issue. not only was i force to pay for healthcare, i was forced to pay astronomical prices for each doctor visit because i wasn't under the healthcare plan they forced me to pay for.

What what you are saying doesn't make sense. What plan were you paying for? Because under Obamacare you are mandated to have private insurance so you are paying for the plan you get

the individual mandate is a "fine". it is not giving you any coverage, it just forces you to pay a similar price as the cost of coverage.

you are left with no health insurance, and a fine that has increased over the years. i believe it was ~$1200 fine last year.
you still have to pay for every individual visit since you do not have healthcare.

in short, it forces me to pay for "your" healthcare, not "our" healthcare.

in addition i'll add why i didn't successfully sign up for healthcare plans at the start of all this.
it's been a long time, so no one may remember this reference....
