I searched through 15 pages of Pard to necro a thread so that we don't have to pollute the picture thread

had to make my own

And I feel like even though climate change hasn't been addressed much lately since the pandemic - I was sure that it'd be coming up again soon.

IF it is caused by man and our actions can be curtailed or changed to have significant impact on the problem, then his statement is NOT asinine, the GND my not be the answer but spending to change our impact is the point.. That's why I asked where you fall on the scale.


You are still missing my point. He suggested that the GND would have prevented this year's forest fires. Which I see as a purely political move not based on science

Well obviously any "GND" would have zero impact so quickly. So that is true

Yeah its dishonest political hackery to pretend man made climate change is to blame for the wildfires and that the Green Leap Forward would prevent them and not be outlandishly expensive and stupid.

He didn't say that though....

Its basic knowledge that more natural disasters will happen with more global warming, which is why he illustrated the point with multiple different examples all happening at the same time

Exactly. Bernie hasn't demonstrated that this particular forest fire is linked to manmade climate change, or that the fire would have otherwise been prevented by the GND.

It should get slapped with a "misleading media" label and Bernie's account should be suspended.
