Two man ran, the gentleman who was shot “brandished” a weapon per MPD. MPD found weapons at the scene. The other two were arrested later and found to be in possession of fire arms. Body cam footage has no been released yet. There is currently a protest happening outside the Mayor’s house to fire the police chief as a result of this incident.
I’m interested in seeing the body cam footage and discussing whether or not this person’s movements were a threat to the officers. I’m also interested in seeing how the officers approached, identified themselves, and what instructions they gave the the individuals at the time of engagement.
“Brandishing” is no longer descriptive enough.
/e the group is using this shooting to bring attention to the force MPD has used during recent protests which is why they’re calling for the firing.
