Liberals wont touch this issue because discrimination against minorities is ok if they're doing too well and over represented in academia.

I think it's so unfortunate that people all have this tendency to want to be right, faultless, and flawless to the extent that they cannot argue from a place of honesty; instead, conversations tend to devolve into a double-down of talking points carefully crafted to protect and preserve their egos.

So I'll be honest. I think white people and Asian people (exempting Southeast Asians) deserve to be discriminated against. Discrimination is not, on its face, an inherently bad action. It's objectively bad when used as a mechanism to oppress others. However, when used to debase those very same oppressors, it becomes a tool for good.

Take a group of people, make it effectively illegal for them to build wealth, and then only stop obvious discrimination but keep writing laws that actively harms the community.

Now take a different group and actively import the best and brightest from their country of origin, make propaganda about how great their group is.

Is it discrimination to try to correct this? Because that's what all of these "they discriminated against Asians and Whites" stuff is. It's more complicated than "they discriminated against X group!" because different groups have different histories and different relationships to the government.

I have no idea why you're so uneducated on this, but reducing Asian success to some mythical "Chang is so smart!" propaganda campaign is incredibly racist.

It reinforces a cultural understanding that whites and asians are inherently superior. It increases racial animosity, inherently segregated along racial and ethnic lines, and serves only to create a "upper" class among the targeted ethnic group.

It's just bad policy.
