I was really hoping this political season was going to be about Republicans accusing Democrats of supporting mob violence, and Democrats denying it.
Instead it was Democrats openly supporting the mob violence and accusing Republicans of supporting... law enforcement.
What a shitshow of a hearing, beyond the obvious namecalling and not letting him answer and grandstanding like normal. Every politician grandstands in hearings instead of actually letting witnesses talk, Democrats do it to conservative witnesses, Republicans do it to liberal witnesses, nothing new there. But the fact these democrats all very intentionally threw in lots with literal bomb throwing anarchists just astounds me. I've never heard of such open embrace of political violence by mainstream politicians in the post civil war era. They have every opportunity to cast democrats as the adults in the room with a tweeting baby president, or say a democratic administration would restore sensibility and order after 4 years of Trump chaos. But instead they openly embraced the chaos. They're staking out a position explicitly
against law enforcement, denigrating federal officers and saluting the domestic terrorists.
seriously, how low of a bar (hurr) did barr set with:
