31 years I've dragged this pasty body across the Earth and I've never smoked weed before. Well, I finally broke the streak and tried it. The first time I tried it was on the beach in Venice. Didn't feel anything that time, so I felt cheated and tried it again yesterday and definitely got high. Was a different kind of intoxication than I've experienced before and honestly I preferred it to alcohol. I've long since been a firm believer in the fact that alcohol is infinitely more destructive and harmful to both the individual and society than weed, so it was nice to try it first hand and be able to weigh them both.

Have any of you used 2020 and the bullshit environment we all seem to be in to try something you have never done before or never thought you'd try for that matter?

2016 and beyond have really thrown a lot of the more concrete things I believed to the wind and made me much more likely to believe certain things and try certain things; within reason.

I've used 2020 to try something new, completely giving up the idea that my common man is anything but an unreliable scoundrel whom i shouldnt bother to help when i instead could improve the lives of my friends and family.

Is your common man different than my common man?

fully agree with your comment concerning alcohol and weed, and that's coming from someone who loves their beer once or twice a week.

i actually tried something i've never seriously done before: writing. wasn't too productive though, especially the past couple of weeks where it's possible to finally play sports again in my freetime.

I reached legend in hearthstone for the first time so that has to count for something.

I love alcohol too, but I know how to exercise restraint when it comes to it. I've worked in bars for a long time so I've seen first hand the destruction it can wreak on people. Luckily I haven't had to deal with it personally in my family life, and I pity those that do.

And that's awesome. I pretty much use this forum to write so I feel less dumb. My girlfriend and I started a notebook where we chronicle travels, little souvenirs, etc. It's amazing how inept you feel when you physically try and write something after pretty much making the transition to digital writing.

Never played it. I heard it plays a lot like Magic, so I imagine I might enjoy it.

Tried weed only a handful of times, but weirdly enough even though I'm not a particularly anxious person in my everyday life, I found that weed makes me extremely anxious to the point of paranoia.

For 2020, I tried (and still am) going to meet with a therapist for the first time in my life.

I heard about the paranoia thing and was happy that I didn't have that symptom.

That's awesome. That's something I'd probably entertain if cost weren't an option.

I make so little money that my health insurance is through the state, and insurance covers 1 hour of therapy/week indefinitely.

Thanks, Obama.

Better than nothing; here's hoping you get something out of it!
