PaRD is shit. You know it, I know it. There's little to no discussion, debate, or worthwhile discourse to be found around here, and the strings of PaRD participation are largely held together because of nostalgia and Sunk Costs.

At any rate, here's a Supreme Court Megathread. I look forward to ^Thundercock being one of few people responding to this. Also, for those who have been around PaRD for years, how wild is it to see that Thundercock (who used to troll and shitpost 24/7) is now one of the most serious, genuine posters?

Recent Supreme Court decisions include:

1. Chiafalo v Washington (9-0):

The Supreme Court upheld so-called Faithless Electors Laws, which apply to people chosen as representative electors in the Electoral College Process. These electors are supposed to cast their vote in a manner consistent with the voters from their state; however, central to this case were instances where these electors did not do so and instead acted as 'free agents' and wrote-in a different candidate. In response, these faithless electors received punishment in the form of fines, but this was contested all the way to the Supreme Court. The Court ruled in favor of these laws and argued that electors are not free agents, but merely representatives of their states electorate and are to be expected to cast their votes accordingly.

2. Barr v. American Association of Political Consultants Inc. (6-3):

The Supreme Court affirmed a lower-court decision that ruled against the legality of an exception for government-owed debt collection efforts with respect to a ban on robocalling to cellphones. In 2015, Congress amended the robocall restriction, carving out a new government-debt exception that allows robocalls made solely to collect a debt owed
to or guaranteed by the United States. The Supreme Court ruled that this exception is a violation of the 1st Amendment, and is no longer legal.

I just saw Goom's Monday thread about the Supreme Court. But I bolded my thread title, and I'm gay, so this is Affirmative Action at work.
