In light of all the hippy bullshit that's been going on for the last few months this may be the most crucial July 4th of my life. Unfortunately this bullshit virus taints it a little bit, but I will likely buy some sort of peaty scotch, Laphroaig unless I wanna splurge on my beloved Lagavulin, and watch some movies I've put off for a while, namely The Patriot and We Were Soldiers.

Among my circle the call for us to be aware and fight against systemic racism has turned to hatred of the police, the nation, etc. Perhaps a step back in the direction of appreciating what we are and can be.

im going to take beer flavored brats, boil them in beer, then grill them over hickory, and cover them in onions boiled in beer and butter.

im going to turn my boombox to 11 and pump Kid Rock's American Bad Ass while jumping my dirt bike over a small child who will be shooting a roman candle at me as i fly inches over his recently fused skull.

My grand-niece's birthday is that day, so picnic/party for her.

My dad is coming up tomorrow. We're gonna sit in my back yard and do basically nothing. Then on the 4th we're gonna grill ribs, pork chops, chicken (for the wife) and bacon wrapped jalapenos.

I'm also gonna try to use the time off work to get NWChem or GAMESS compiled on the cluster I'm building. If I can get the distributed computing version of these programs working on Rocks 7.0 then I can forego buying more expensive servers with the AVX2 extension set for Gaussian16 and just buy a bunch of really cheap SSE instruction servers and do some massively parallel computing on open source programs.

I've found that having a normal 40 hour a week job that actually pays decent money has left me with a hole in my life, and I'm filling it by filling my basement with servers and doing science! With a side of gardening.



I hate bratwurst, but I'm now realizing my mother would always buy great value brats and cook them to an inch of their life.

I think my next project is going to be making brats taste amazing.

Grilling some corn I’ve got growing in my yard, trying to do a 700 round burn with the ole Kalashnikov without LAPD copters hovering over me. Neighbor kids with fireworks will provide the cover. Got a Trump target to fuck up real good.

Fuck, dude....we built a 8' x 4' raised garden bed this year, and we are going to have SO. MANY. TOMATOES. And peppers of many varieties. And broccoli. And cauliflower.

I'm going to wipe my ass with the ol' Union Jack and then piss on a picture of the Queen.
