The vote just passed to remove the confederate flag from the Mississippi flag, maybe they will replace it with the confederate battle flag.. same as the french one, plain white.

Reminds me of the brexit stay movement. They already had a referendum on exactly this issue, and the people of mississippi voted 64-36 to keep their flag.

I don't really care about the flag and the last vote was stupid since it was not a simple up/down and decide design afterwards. Was current vs some ugly pos. But caving to outside forces pisses me off to no end.

They gave the vote to the public and the people spoke with an overwhelming majority. Some of the same politicians who pushed that referendum are still in government today for this push.
How many bites at the apple do they get, and how often? This time they aren't even bothering to ask the will of the people, even with an election in a few months.

This push was economic. College athletics were taking all events away until we changed flag. The vote was bipartisan. All the theatrics of they prayed about this shit and the guaranteed inclusion of 'in god we trust' was to try and placate the voters that will be pissed.
