Society is a pressure system that is supposed to be kept in equilibrium. If the law presses inwards too hard, it crushes the people. But at the same time, the people are always pushing back, and if the law were removed, the balloon bursts. What has been happening here and for the past few weeks isn't an overbearing authority, its the opposite. A signal was sent that rioters and looters and arsonists have control of the streets and impunity to act lawlessly. If they thought the law would stop them, they wouldn't try it. But once precinct 3 was torched and stand-down orders given and democratic officials in control of governments lent their support to rioters, the rioters knew they could get away with it. And that pressure system burst.
The American people aren't the sunni fanatics of syria who need to be crushed with an iron fist of barrel bombs to make them submit. All it would take is a show of force and a few sweeps of mass arrests and imprisonment without the freebie cards and 'restorative justice' quackery pushed by liberals. When one of those mobs starts torching businesses, kettle them, arrest every single person and charge them all with a felony with 2+ years imprisonment. Watch how fast the riots die down around the country after that. Most of the people out rioting today are posting about it on their iphones, eating chipotle burritos, going home and watching netflix on their laptops. They aren't scratching at the desert sands and fucking goats. If their actions had consequences, they'd nope the fuck out.
If you think the reaction is due to the past few weeks, you haven't paid attention. All the people who looted, rioted, etc. will see their day in court once they are caught. Law enforcement officials are scouring FB, Insta, etc. so I'm not particularly worried...especially since some of those dumbshits didn't even wear masks.
