California took away the right to bear arms from 66,000 people in an effort to stop 100 people from buying ammunition. No, that's not hyperbolic, because access to ammunition is fundamental to the right to bear arms.

They were barred temporarily, until they fix discrepancies in the database. Once the gun owners file some paperwork everything will be fine again.

So if the people update their information then they can buy guns. cool. case closed.

But Berg couldn’t buy shotgun shells at his local hardware store in Yuba City prior to a duck hunting trip last month. He was rejected under California’s stringent ammunition background check program that took effect July 1, because his personal information didn’t match what state officials had in their database.

The fuck are we bitching about?

If the fucks update their perso information then there is no problem.

'take away their right'?

It should be handled the same way as driver's licenses. updated electronically by the citizen, then that's your official record. and ofc at no cost. states (if there are any left) that require a new physical license after moves are a sham.

that way u could get rejected, smartphone change your address online, and walk back in to purchase.

while i dont agree with the need in theory, a system like that in practice wouldn't be that cumbersome.

This is impossible because they already have weapons to defend themselves.

No, it's not "file some paperwork," it's "register their firearms so that they are in a government database to be taken at a later date."

Aside from people having their rights taken away, an actual cop was denied.

But if the information provided to them doesnt match what they have on record, then they cannot prove you are the citizen that has these rights compared to a radical non citizen who doesn't.

It is simple identification.

Maybe the guy should just update his info?

The fact that he is a cop is irrelevant when he is buying them as a civilian to go hunting for ducks.

That is NOT what is at issue here, because he obviously has state-issued identification, and that makes him a citizen. They're nitpicking that the address THEY HAVE ON FILE for him doesn't match the address ON HIS ID. They're not trying to make sure they keep ammo out of the hands of illegals, California would never pass a law that targeted illegals.

weren't there any guns to prevent that kind of government tyranny? unbelievable really, someone should do something about it, right? glad you presented this in an unbiased and non-hyperbolic way, so everyone knows how those poor people are stripped of their god given rights.

This is a clear 2A infringement violation, but in the shaded gray area. The address discrepancy denials are a complete joke. Imagine you are homeless, what the hell would you put down? You probably have more need for personal protection too.
