It's a tad refreshing to hear a right wing political commentator talking about how tax payers have to subsidize corporate welfare queens who skimp out on paying their employees a living wage forcing everyone else to pick up the tab when those employees go on food stamps and social assistance programs.

the left hates bezos because of his unethical business practices (exploiting tax loopholes, minimum wages, monopolising the market...).
the right hates bezos because he owns the washington post and is critical of trump.

Walmart, Amazon & Uber have hundreds of thousands of low skill part time jobs. It's a very reductionist and unnuanced way to complain about them not paying their employees more if you consider what those employees do, their education level, the difficulty of the job, hours worked, etc.

Does a person stocking the shelves at Walmart deserve more than 12 dollars? Maybe. But if you force those companies to pay them 15, then they will just change the function so less people are doing the same amount of work. More people unemployed, more people dropping out of the LF, more welfare needed, etc.

Feels more like a personal jab at Beezy than an actual full rebuttal of corporate welfare.

I'm also interested in what he sees as the solution. I'm suspecting his solution is lower welfare subsidies for these employees then let market forces decide.

Not to mention the fact that Carlson is just another millionaire who gets his paycheck from billionaires. He's never going to advocate for increasing their burdens across the board.

Most Republicans would support ending corporate welfare, just ask them. Ted Cruz did it in Texas.

Liberals assume that all economic transactions happen in a bubble. They don't understand that rich people are smarter than them and will plan around their foolish attempts to bottle up human nature.

There's countries where employees can still strike and countries where they are fucked. Period.
