Also, this comes after the deadspin mass exodus because current owners didn't like that deadspin writers talked "politics" in their sports section. They wanted more sports and fluff pieces from because apparently that gets all the clicks. Not understanding that deadspin was one of the more popular sports blogs was precisely because it was one to talk go about with social and political commentary in and around sports.

So her talking about how she wants to bang basketball player(s) is sort of a wink wink nudge nudge to the situation. As in : Here's your vapid fluff piece that will get a lot of clicks and ad money.
