In the past few weeks the popular programming forum Stack Overflow has been embroiled in the latest iteration of the SJW culture war. A leading moderator who happens to be a practicing traditionalist jew was fired after the accusation that she might not follow an upcoming code of conduct change that requires all programmers to refer to transgender people using their preferred pronouns and forbids using neutral pronouns or avoiding pronouns. The CoC hadn't been in place and there were no instances of her 'misgendering' people, but rather she had replied to a thread discussing the potential rules change by saying that they rarely even needed third-person-singular pronouns in discussions and not using a pronoun at all isn't "misgendering", which was the top voted comment in the discussion. After returning from Rosh Hashana, she found out that queer/trans/alphabet activist moderators had thrown a fit and the new CoC was going into effect and she was being fired on the presumption that her future self might violate that rule due to her stance.
In the ensuing clusterfuck, 73 moderators have vacated their positions or been suspended, either by the new rules or in solidarity, plunging the site into chaos.

All this really draws attention to the fact that Silicon Valley has an alarming number of talentless shits under labels like 'diversity officers' who serve no benefit to society and only exist by overt racketeering.

I don't think progressives can get a lasting victory on this stuff. There's just a fundamental unreasonableness to it, which isn't equivalent to issues like whether gay partners can visit each other in hospitals or get tax benefits. Although since popular culture basically accepts every nonsensical SJW position, it will further divide regular society from elite society. And that's not good for our democracy.

Sad that it has to come to that. I don't think rules should exist to mandate respect -- if a moderator consistently misgenders people, it should be possible to fire them purely on the basis of being a disrespectful prick.
The rule is added because this company wants to use it as an "Oh look how LGBT positive we are!" showcase item, which only serves the company itself and does nothing to serve its staff or its users.

Indeed. Which goes to show that this is not about serving interests of transgender persons, this is about ramming an ideology down our throats.
The transgender persons only serve as pawns in this ongoing fight by liberals/progressives for virtue signaling and dominating the agenda/public debate. This all boils down to "WE define what YOU are allowed to say or think".

All this is alot of blabla, the only thing really worrying me here is "practicing traditionalist jew"
That seems pretty much an handicap for the job of moderation, especially if there's much "transgenders" in the arena.

This is why I freelance. The 'good old boys' club was bad enough, now we are building a 'good old transgender club'.

And here we go....

Pretty sad how society gets on its knees and caters to minority groups that literally cause drama everywhere they go. I personally think transgenders suffer from a mental illness as do many others and i will never ever address them in a certain way it is either him or her. Sad how these transgenders dont speak up and how happy they are with someone losing their job over there bs.imo they are segregating themselves from society.
