So, Republicans concoct a strategy as early as 2015 to add a citizen verification question to the Census for the express purposes of undercounting immigrants to concentrate Republican political power under the guise of the 1965 Voting Rights Act.. it gains proponents in Trump’s campaign... after election, the Department of Commerce tells the Department of Justice to create a paper trail by asking the Department of Commerce for its advice... and then they go ahead with it. Then, under investigation in a court case, Trump today declares Executive Privilege over these related documents, and it doesn’t even make the front page on PARD. Pretty damning, or just another Wednesday in the world we now live in.

I don't see any reason NOT to ask whether people are citizens or not. If we're going to provide healthcare, housing, etc., to illegals or undocumented people, we, American citizens, damn well deserve to know who is in our country. The electoral college is based on population and Democrats just want to "farm" more votes. The tragedy of Lincoln...

No, the right will say...

Yo left... quit breaking federal immigration laws, just to pad your electoral weight. And the fed only HAS so much money to give to states for various reasons, so quit breaking federal immigration laws to get more federal money.

Short version... for w/e reason, quit breaking federal immigration laws.

Should representation be determined by population, or population of citizens?

How fascist and racist of you to even suggest American citizenship still bears meaning.

Cute rejoinder, BUT... it's the Dems/left that are ignoring federal immigration laws. They are the ones with the sanctuary cities. They are the ones suing the WH and Trump for ANYthing related to illegal immigration, or any proposed issues, that would lead to more accurate info of illegal immigrants in the US.
