Maybe Trump's presidency really was worth it. Let's get another conservative on the court before impeachment. :thumbsup:

Is there a way to force change within the Supreme Court at all? IE could Congress force a SJ out if they are considered mentally ill or something? With the coverage I see I always get the notion that it's more or less like a pope appointment. Stays until they decide to die/leave.

Prior to this my opinion was that the Supreme Court had a slight improvement with Gorsuch, since you really can't get a worse partisan hack than Scalia that's qualified for the Supreme Court.

Now..... we'll have to see. Kennedy rode the line between parties pretty frequently, so the court is likely to get more conservative.

It's virtually impossible to get that level of political will.

I fully expect no one to celebrate or moap about this retirement because the SCOTUS is apolitical and simply interprets the Constitution.
