So at my company HR sent out an email regarding changes to our Healthcare benefits. The policy I use is remaining unchanged in coverage but with a price tag of -25% for yearly premiums. Thanks Obama. I don't understand how the right wing has confused so many below average/average income earners to go against their best interests.

Well if it works for you, I guess it's working for everyone.

Not just me, every former classmember of mine that I keep in contact with has been happy with their insurance premiums dropping. But I understand that I am a single data point out of a very large country.

Mine went up 86% last year, fortunately for me the OPM let me switch to a different plan that was only 9% higher...this year it's going up 6.9% more again with only a 1.3% raise, so get to lose more money this year to! I know more people that have had issues than haven't. Healthcare in this country is a joke, wish they'd take the profits out of it.

I agree. To me it's absurd that an essential service can only profit from denying you the service you are paying for.

A good universal healthcare system provided by the government with the option to go private is a great system and we use it here with much lower cost per head. However, countries with universal healthcare systems are a lot smaller than the US. Something tells me it could be a logistical nightmare if the US went down that route.

Start by reducing Pharma lobbying power, that'll lower the cost of drugs and should have a knock on effect to premiums.

Honestly, I don't think it can be any more of a logistical nightmare than the pre-Obamacare system. Highest spending in the world and like 34th in quality. Abysmal.

This is a great interview with Martin Shkreli about the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry:

The state of Minnesota approved individual market rate increases of between 50-67% this year.
