I think that people have been brainwashed into thinking of the Bible was formed with God's hand and his intervention.

Its simply a compilation of various ancient literature.
From different times
From different languages.
Written by men.
Translated by men
Compiled by men.

Do I think that the stories should automatically be disregarded
Because of this?
No, absolutely not.

I think a better way to look at the Bible is with the mind set of it being historical text.
Not to be disrespected because of irrational hate for religion.
But also not to be believed without question because of blind faith.

I also think that all the other ancient literature that never found its way into the Bible should also be reviewed and respected the same.
Like extra stories in dead sea scrolls, sumerian tablets, and all other ancient text that was conveniently left out of the Bible by the folks that compiled it.

As graham Hancock eloquently said:
"We are a race with amnesia"
Because all it takes is one major catastrophe for us to all reset and revert back to primal intelligence and understanding.

This is why we marvel at the pyramids, the megalithic stones at baalbek and other such ancient works that we still to this day cannot with certain say how it was created due to the magnitude and precision required.

Now the findings from ground penetraiting technology we see there are these giant spiral structures going deep under ground under the pyramids which may be some form of lost technology.
Or
Even the mega labyrinth in Egypt that was in ancient text that described and even more impressive than all the pyramids has been found now with this technology we have now that can look into the earth.

My point is:
We know very little about our own past.
And unless you were there when it happened you cannot say with certainty that's what happened and how it happened.
But
We do need to cherish what little information we do have.
And read it with an open mind.
And from a modern understanding that there may have been Devine intervention at periods of time throughout our long forgotten history from species or beings that may be interdimensional or interstellar.
Because you have stories like the nephilim...
Which were giants born from "fallen angles" that mated with human women...
Obviously look at this with much skepticism.
But if this really did happen in history.
Common sense will tell you that it was physical beings that came down... not mythical dark angel demons...
Because you need sperm to make baby.
And that means you need balls and a cock.
Which means physical beings were visiting this planet from somewhere else similar enough in nature to conceive.
So... yeah..
Who knows
Maybe its all bull shit.
Who knows I wasnt there.
But neither was anyone else.
So no one can prove it really happened.

Everything biblical or historical should always be read with extreme skepticism, but also with an open mind.

You cant prove there is an all powerful all knowing intelligence we call "god."
Just as much as no one else can prove that there isnt.
If there is. It may not exist in a form or understanding we can comprehend with our near monkey brains.

Take all the religious dogma away and what are you left with?
Very very old Stories that may be bullshit, but also may not be complete bullshit and instead hold much forgotten truths about our history on this planet.

At the very least.
The Bible helps pass on very important morals and ethics.
Which helps society more than many who casually disregard it realize.

Thats my honest take.
Ive seen and been on both sides of the fence.
Now I exist in the middle in the search for truth and understanding not dogma.

When I did Divinity back in Junior College..I was in the British System GCE O and GCE A levels.
I took Divinity for GCE A levels for part of my module.

What is Divinity

explores Christian theology, focusing on Old Testament prophets, the four Gospels, and the Apostolic Age (Acts/Epistles)

Our Lecturer always tell us how to approach our subject. Always be critical and use a historical background.
Studying the Bible and theology is completely different from going to Church and listening to your reverend every Sunday or going to Sunday School for bible classes.

Even though our lecturer is a Reverend himself of a major church. He makes sure that we explore the bible and the historical text and stories with an analytical and critical lens.
If we don't, we will just turn up like those middle eastern Allahu Ackbars.

I can also assure you that loads of people after going through Divinity and Theology as a proper subject...in Pre University and some even took it further and do it in University in a dual degree form ..Theology / Econs ...Physics etc etc because of interest.
A lot ended up quitting Church... Those that did not stop believing in Christ or the Abrahamic religion....also stopped attending Church, because they see through a lot of stuff both by experience and by academia.

Long Story Short, these were my syllabus.

Economics
Divinity
History
Literature

General Paper (GP AS Level)

According to my research, virginity in the era of Christ required male-female sex (which was the same loophole the ancient Greeks used for all their gay sex). This provides scientific explanation for Mary's virgin birth - she was stirred up by a trans person.
