I'm in NYC this week, staying a couple blocks from the Wall Street bull, so I went to check it out today. It was packed. Hundreds of people lined up, waiting forever just to snap pics of it, with it, them touching its balls, wherever they could find a spot.
Is it just me or is it kinda weird how people treat this thing? They line up to get close to this giant bronze bull, the symbol of Wall Street power and money, almost like they're worshipping it.
It reminded me of the golden calf story, where the Israelites made and bowed down to a shiny gold idol right after promising to follow God instead. Makes you wonder what other people think.
Do they see it the same way, or am I reading too much into it?
I did tickle his balls...
*not my photo, there was 500+ people there today
