Well in the middle east we can assume in America they fight terrorist so killing people is more accepted by the sheeple.. as terrorist can be a capital crime..When drug dealers not so much ..Well until now ..
But when you find out that these so called terrorist cells were the remnants of those that you train and are intelligence asset against the Soviets that's pretty sad huh.
Just like that Afghan dude and what he did in DC, he is an asset and probably fought shoulder to shoulder with your troops in Afghanistan.
And you realized everything is manufactured. So the assumption you were fighting terrorist was always something you manufactured long time back and the problems started to surface.

You also put Saddam and propelled him to be the president of Iraq as a counter to Iran.
