These poor rural ranchers you're whining about—the ones with 100+ head of cattle, million-dollar land values, and fat government subsidies they’ve been cashing in on for decades while crying about “market forces”? The same folks who’ve been bragging about record profits and land appreciation? Now they’re suddenly “hurting” because Argentina might send a tiny fraction of beef to help American families afford a burger? Sounds like a choice to me.
beef and dairy farmers are the least of Trump's worries. The corn and beans farmers are the ones who are getting hosed. Massive amounts of beef already came from south america, McDonald's was almost exclusively from the south for a decade or more. But China used to import most of their beans from the USA, and we exported most of our beans, now that number has hit a literal zero for china. beef shifting a few percent is nothing by comparison.
