So from what I'm reading, the child raping president of the United States asked texas to redraw district lines to help him in midterm elections and texas is doing as told.

Democrats are not happy about it.

California is looking to do the same in the opposite direction to counter what Texas is doing.

Republicans are not happy about it.

So is gerrymandering and states rights only ok when your side does it?

i would say it depends on whether or not you're on the right side of history

Everything in politics is right when your side does it that's why status quo never actually changes even tho the party in power does every few years. The main goal is to keep the two sides fighting so they never rise up and get meaningful change.

I guess that's what's sad about the current state of affairs. Everything is OK if its for a cause you agree with, everyone is so tribal these days.

The reality is, absolutely yes. In aggregate, it comes out in a wash in a 50/50 plutocracy. For example, Texas offsetting shit like Massachusetts to begin with before California feign gerrymandering baaad. It's a circus they all play in. If US had a variety of political parties, Any one party would be minority and the others would squash most of this dickery. It's a trait of plutocracy to weaponize and lay traps while briefly holding all the cards.


In regards to Texas, at the end of the day, nothing was accomplished by the representatives forsaking their constitutional duties. At the very least, should not get paid for that crap while constituents forking over tax USD.
