He is an oddity. Triply so. Tall as an NBA player, President's son, and according to the comment, just goes to class, then goes home. Doesn't participate in school political gatherings.
Accurate comment. Not sure why she'd be "forced to resign". Doesn't seem like a way for the club to endear themselves. Either to Barron, or to Trump Supporters, tbh.
Easy enough to understand why he'd just go to class then go home. Via his father, he can experience real politics. Further, given multiple recent attempts on his father's life, the less time spent on campus, the better, tbh.
I can't access the originating Vanity Fair article because I'm unwilling to give them money, but The Hill describes a little more from it:
https://thehill.com/homenews/education/5152978-new-york-university-college-republicans-resign/Quote
“He goes to class, he goes home,” she told the outlet, adding a professor joked Barron Trump “doesn’t really belong here.”
The national group said Walker’s comments do not “align with the values and principles upheld by our organization.”
While College Republicans believe Vanity Fair twisted Walker’s words, “we still found it to be inappropriate. The NYU chapter President submitted her resignation last night.”
Something tells me the comment about the professor led to the resignation. If it DOES follow the "cancel culture" pattern, they'd want the identity of the specific professor. Give the identity or resign. And such "jokes" from professors about students WOULD merit censure based on the school's own code of conduct.
Either way, for the intial portion of the comment, I agree. He's an oddity. ANY sitting US President's son attending your University would be an oddity. NN a resignation for telling the truth.
Edit: If anyone has a vanity fair sub and wants to quote her full quoted comments from the article, that'd be super.
