this is from back when conservatives understood that immigrants made this country great. what happened? how did racism and hatred for immigrants become the norm for conservatives?

where has the conservative leadership gone? we went from the Arab scare under Bush to the modern Trump cult ethno-nationalism in my lifetime. how do we get back to where we were?

Immigrants are no different than anyone else. They're either a value add or they're not, it comes down to the competencies and the character of the immigrant.

Americans want secure borders and controlled immigration. That's the Trump era position within the Republican party, and the majority opinion of the American electorate at large. The foreign born % of the population has roughly tripled since Reagan and will soon eclipse even the 1890 highs. Illegal migration is rampant and uncontrolled. Experience with this process has turned off a majority of the American voting public. They don't want to see Venezuelan gangs in control of apartment complexes, and they don't want their city governments spending billions on hotels and prepaid debit cards for migrants.

Immigrants are fine, illegal immigrants are not.

Sheesh, why this even needs to be a thread is beyond me. This shouldn't have to be a discussion with people, it's common sense.

Regan did some bullshit though. If I recall it was Regan who didn't want an intelligent population questioning government decisions around conflicts. It started by cutting public universities. Can't have an educated public.

I'd say he was a key stepping stone into todays current piss poor USA university system.

comparing these is asinine. dramatically increased illegal immigration, dramatically increased welfare, social security, and medicare draws, dramatically increased illegal drug smuggling, and more rampant crime.

That guy ain't Canadian. If he was and was forced to see brown people everywhere who will never be recognized as Canadians, he'd understand. Canada is now 20% Hindus which most are TFW/New arrivals. They leech and destroy every systems put in place to help the poor/vets and take everything for granted. They go on welfare, have tons of kids, these kids bring them more $ so all they do = sit at home, leech all loopholes, produce kids and racket more $.

Canada is gone and you guys next when Kamala goes in office with her open border. There a reason all Celebrities are told to endorse Kamala like they did with the covid vaccine. They all belong to the same owners.

It's sad people don't see this and don't realize what's happening. It's right under their nose yet they spend their energy going to pride parade and creating custom genders and watching meaningless entertainment when all they have is 60-80 years to live this unique experience called life. Instead, they will have repeated the same routine in their safe bubble for most of their lives.
